A LITTLE GUIDANCE GOES A LONG WAY

From first command
to next adventure.

Practical walkthroughs for members and server staff. Start simple, then find your next feature.

Getting started

Meet your new server companion

Start in a channel where Serenity is already present and can read and send messages. The default prefix is a semicolon.

  1. Open the help menu and browse a category.

    ;help
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Ask about one command to see its real syntax and permissions.

    ;help warn
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Pick your personal language. It overrides the server’s default.

    ;language
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Choose a personal theme. Try the theme list to see the other options.

    ;theme chrome
    Usage & permissions →
  5. Read the newest recorded update.

    ;new
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

To invite Serenity to another server, use ;invite where you already have access to the bot, or ask in the support server. Installation requires authority to add bots to that server.

Prefixes & syntax

Speak Serenity’s language

Commands begin with your server or personal prefix. Brackets mean optional input; parentheses mean required input. Replace the markers with real values.

  1. Check the current prefix settings.

    ;prefix
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Set a personal prefix. You can still use the server’s prefix.

    ;prefix personal ?
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Reset your personal prefix to follow the server.

    ;prefix personal reset
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Server managers can set a server prefix. Use the new prefix for subsequent commands.

    ;prefix set !
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

The examples below use the default semicolon prefix. After changing a prefix in Discord, use a currently accepted prefix. The feedback form is the exception: type exactly ;provide feedback. Put multi-word item names in quotes when a command expects one name.

For server managers

Give your server a solid foundation

Use an account with Manage Guild. Serenity also needs the channel and role permissions requested by the feature. Keep its role above roles it must manage.

  1. Create the setup channels using your staff role. Review the confirmation before creating resources.

    ;setup @Staff
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Review what setup created.

    ;setup status
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Choose where welcome messages should appear.

    ;welcome channel #welcome
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Write a welcome message using the supported placeholders.

;welcome message Welcome {member} to {server}!
    Usage & permissions →
  5. Enable the configured welcome messages.

    ;welcome enable
    Usage & permissions →
  6. Open the event picker for this log destination. Deselecting events removes them; selecting none disables it.

    ;logs add #server-logs
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Use private staff destinations for reports and moderation logs. Channel permissions still apply, even when a member has a server-level management permission.

Server safety

Welcome members through a verification gate

Verification must be configured by a server manager before members can use the shortcut.

  1. Enable the gate in the chosen channel. The bot posts a persistent verification panel.

    ;verification enable #verification
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Post or recover the verification panel if needed.

    ;verification panel
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Members verify themselves once the gate is available.

    ;verify
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Check channel and role access before enabling a gate, especially in a live server. Verification uses the configured bot rules; it is not government-ID verification.

Moderation

Make room for private reports

A manager must set a private staff inbox before members submit message reports.

  1. Set a report channel that @everyone cannot view.

    ;report channel #staff-reports
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Check the report configuration.

    ;report status
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Replace message_link with the message’s actual Discord link, or reply to the message and give a reason.

    ;report message_link Repeated spam
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Reports preserve message evidence for authorized moderators. Use the Mark reviewed button in the staff inbox to record review. Reporting does not guarantee an automatic punishment.

Support

Turn a question into a conversation

A server manager sets up a support role and ticket panel. Members can then open a private ticket.

  1. Configure the support role.

    ;ticket setup @Support
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Post the persistent ticket panel.

    ;ticket panel #support
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Open a ticket with a short subject; one active ticket per member.

    ;ticket open I need help
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Close the conversation. Closing schedules channel deletion in ten minutes.

    ;ticket close Resolved
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Delete now requires confirmation. Support staff can reopen a ticket before deletion and manage participants. Do not put passwords or sensitive documents in a ticket.

Personal tools

Keep the little things on your radar

Reminders and timers save their schedule and can work in servers or direct messages. Set a clock offset for dates and times.

  1. Set your preferred clock offset.

    ;clock set UTC+02:00
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Schedule a reminder after a duration.

    ;remind 30m Take a break
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Find your reminder IDs and schedules.

    ;remind list
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Replace 1 with the actual reminder ID to cancel it.

    ;remind cancel 1
    Usage & permissions →
  5. Start a countdown timer.

    ;timer 10m Tea break
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

The bot needs permission to deliver to the chosen destination. A saved schedule survives restarts, but delivery still depends on the bot and Discord being available.

Shared economy

Your first Serenity Bucks

Your S$ wallet, possessions, and progression are shared across servers. These are virtual entertainment resources, with no cash redemption.

  1. Check your wallet and bank.

    ;balance
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Claim a daily reward and build a streak.

    ;daily
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Find the careers available to you.

    ;job list
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Apply to a career whose requirements you meet.

    ;job apply miner
    Usage & permissions →
  5. Earn your next reward when the cooldown permits.

    ;work
    Usage & permissions →
  6. Move available wallet funds into your virtual bank.

    ;deposit all
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Many activities use tools, consumables, or saved progression requirements. Open the relevant command help before spending virtual funds. Game wagers use virtual funds only.

Languages & themes

Make the experience feel like you

Serenity supports 24 languages and personal display themes. These preferences are saved for your account.

  1. Open the language picker.

    ;language
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Choose Spanish using its language code.

    ;language set es
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Return to the server’s language preference.

    ;language reset
    Usage & permissions →
  4. Browse the theme choices.

    ;theme list
    Usage & permissions →
  5. Apply a personal theme.

    ;theme aurora
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

A server manager can change the guild language. Command syntax remains recognizable across translated responses; use the command help for accepted arguments.

Creative commands

Give your pictures a little motion

Attach one PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP image to your command, or reply to an image message in the same channel.

  1. Convert one attached image to a still GIF.

    ;gif
    Usage & permissions →
  2. Animate one image with a spin effect.

    ;gif spin
    Usage & permissions →
  3. Attach several pictures to build a slideshow.

    ;gif slideshow
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Up to six inputs, 5 MB each and 20 MB total. Output is at most 512 pixels per side and 8 MB or the server’s upload limit. Animated inputs use their first frame.

Feedback

Help write the next chapter

Tell the operator what you would like Serenity to add or change.

  1. Type this exact command. Custom prefixes and abbreviations do not open the form.

    ;provide feedback
    Usage & permissions →
Before you continue

Click Write feedback, fill in your suggestion, and submit. The bot confirms after saving. There is a 60-second per-user cooldown. For private data requests, email niftyserenitybusiness@gmail.com instead.

Troubleshooting

When a command won’t work.

Nothing happens when I type a command.

Check the prefix, spelling, and whether Serenity is present. The bot must be able to view the channel and send messages. Use ;help with your accepted prefix. Feedback is always exactly ;provide feedback.

I get a permissions error.

Read the command’s permission label. Server-level permissions and channel restrictions both matter. Bot role hierarchy can also prevent role or moderation changes. Server owners cannot use the private bot-operator commands unless they are the configured bot owner.

A feature is unavailable or disabled.

The feature may need setup, the operator may have restricted it, or you may not meet progression requirements. Consult the relevant guide and ask your server staff. Premium groundwork does not mean every feature requires payment; existing commands are currently free.

I’m on a cooldown.

Wait for the duration shown in the bot’s response. Some limits depend on the account or game state and are not represented by a simple command timer.

What do the syntax markers mean?

(member) is required input; [member] is optional. Replace the marker with an actual mention or accepted ID. The | character can separate alternatives or poll choices; follow the specific usage. Website copy buttons help prepare text; they never send a command to Discord.

How do I ask for help or deletion?

Join Serenity Support for help. Send private privacy or deletion requests to niftyserenitybusiness@gmail.com. Read the Privacy Policy before submitting sensitive information.
